At LINC Foundation, we are privileged to make a positive impact across various areas of society. Our job readiness programme prepares young people for the workforce through the Work Smart Programme.

The programme is a holistic 4-week initiative designed to provide professional training to both newly employed and unemployed youth, while also nurturing their social and emotional growth.
Our mission is to foster active citizenship and create lasting impact within communities. Throughout our journey of preparing youth for the job market, we’ve observed firsthand how emotional intelligence and confidence-building are pivotal for success. Our alumni have not only acquired essential employability skills, but have also learned to manage professional relationships effectively and communicate with confidence in the workplace.
By addressing critical social challenges like unemployment, our programme offers a supportive environment where youth develop both intellectually and emotionally. This prepares them to confidently pursue job opportunities, excel in interviews, and embrace feedback as opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The Work Smart Programme, led by Mpume Makiwane and a team of skilled facilitators, focuses on cultivating self-awareness, empathy, and effective relationship management. It combines practical skills training with life coaching, offering participants:
- Personal development sessions that inspire self-awareness and personal growth.
- Skill-building opportunities in areas such as Hospitality, Barista skills, Beauty, Computers, and Administration.
- Spiritual enrichment through the Alpha course and weekly Bible study sessions.
- Community service experiences that encourage participants to contribute meaningfully while gaining insights into the world of work.

This comprehensive approach not only empowers youth but also encourages them to deepen their personal growth beyond immediate job requirements. By fostering their skills and confidence through the Work Smart Programme, we aim to integrate them into the workforce and nurture future community leaders and builders. Equipped with professional skills, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of social responsibility, our participants are ready to make meaningful contributions wherever they go, emerging as capable professionals and inspiring agents of positive change.
