Time for change

Recently, our team took a moment to host a special dinner, celebrating not only another impactful year but, more importantly, honouring the incredible opportunities God has given us as an organisation. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and connect with those who are a part of this journey—those who help breathe life into our mission every day.  “What a privilege it was to meet so many people who have invested in this story and share the same heart for our country.”  Tammy shared during the evening.

One story that touched every heart that evening was shared by Cath Slevin—a tribute to the late Mrs. Nokuthla Sibisi, former principal of Sogidi Primary School in Ndwedwe. A dynamic and passionate leader, Mrs. Sibisi dedicated her life to making a difference and empowering those around her. Tragically, she passed away earlier this year in a car accident. Yet, her legacy lives on, reminding us that the perfect time for change is now. Her life was a testament to taking every moment and making it count, and her memory continues to inspire us to lead with courage, purpose, and love.

In the spirit of change, we reflected on the powerful words of Isaiah 43:19: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

This scripture serves as a beacon of hope, guiding our steps forward as we seek to create new opportunities and transformation within our communities.

As a beautiful gesture of appreciation, each guest was gifted a hand-beaded watch, thoughtfully crafted by Lunga Ntuli, a local entrepreneur and his team of talented local female artists.  These watches symbolize the precious gift of time and the commitment to use every moment to bring about change.

Reflecting on the evening, Nelfie Kemp’s words resonated deeply: “If we can change one person’s life in our lifetime, it is enough.” May we all be inspired to be instruments of change in whatever way we can, embracing every moment as an opportunity to create a brighter, more hopeful future.
